Hi, we're Niteo.
Niteo is a small bootstrapped company that's been helping small businesses run better since 2007. The name is Latin for "to shine" and "to thrive". We took it because we believe in both.
We build software, look after intellectual property, run a coworking house in the Canary Islands, and host sprints for the open-source community. Different work, but the same small team behind all of it.
The story so far
We started in 2007 as a small team of web developers in Slovenia, full of ideas about safer browsing and an internet without phishing. The mission was big, the bank account small, the timing wrong. We burnt out.
After that we got practical. We took on consulting work to keep the lights on, then traded most of it away to build our own products instead. Bootstrapped, no investors, no growth-at-all-costs. The plan was simple: build things people actually pay for, reinvest, repeat.
Two decades in, that approach is still working. The product mix has changed (software, IP, the coworking house, the sprints), but the operating model hasn't. We're still a small team, and largely the same one.
